The Trinity Pacific Christian School Varsity basketball team had a good run at the National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championships in Springfield Missouri March 15-19. Trinity won three games and lost two over the course of the week, losing in the semi-finals of Division 2 against a team from Kentucky. Trinity fell behind early 18-3 but never gave up and pulled within 64-61 in the fourth quarter before falling 69-67. Four JV players also joined the trip and played on Team USA—a team comprised of homeschool players from programs who do not have a full team for their age division at the tournament. Two players also competed in the Mock Trial CA State championships via Zoom when not in the gym! The trip to Missouri was an excellent opportunity for the TPCS boys to compete against the top teams in the country. The highlight for the team was Thursday’s game vs. Lubbock, a team they played in Dallas three weeks prior. The gym was packed and the crowd was loud which created the real basketball atmosphere that has been absent much of this year. Trinity led the entire game and won 63-56 to get to the semi-finals.
