There were thirty-one teams assembled for the 43rd annual California Mock Trial competition in Los Angeles on March 22-24. Just one year ago, in 2023, the TPCS team earned a chance at the state victory, but in spite of valiant efforts they walked away without the title. This year brought new hopes and a new sense of determination as the TPCS mock trial team gave their best to win state. And they were not disappointed. Celebration ensued as the TPCS team won every single round in the competition and swept the championship round!
Winning the state victory means the Trinity mock trial team will move on to the national competition in Delaware in May. While it is a great honor, it is also presents some great challenges to our team. For the local county and state competitions, students have months to prepare and rehearse their case. But teams competing at the national level have just one month to review their case and prepare for the championship. And if that didn’t keep them busy enough, our team is also diligently working to raise over $20,000 in a short amount of time to travel to the East Coast for the national competition.
The State victory could not have been won without the dedication and support of so many in our community. And now, more than ever, we are grateful for those who band together to help us succeed. Will you help us reach our fundraising goal to send the TPCS mock trial team to Delaware for nationals? You can make a tax deductible donation through this link: https://gofund.me/d04e26c7. For more ways to give, contact Dara Murphy through the school website.
Well done, Trinity, and good luck in Delaware! We are rooting for you!
